Dry Lawn Restore Kit

Before you begin

• Always sow grass seed when the soil temperature is above 10°C and below 25°C.
• Grass seed and fertiliser can be applied at the same time.

Instructions

1. Preparation – Remove leaves, branches, and other garden debris. Then mow the lawn using the lowest mower setting (shorter than 5 cm).
2. Rake or scarify – Rake or scarify the lawn to remove as much dead organic material as possible until you can see bare soil between the grass plants. This creates space for the grass seed to make contact with the soil.
3. Distribute the grass seed – Divide the Quick Repair grass seed into two equal portions. Sow the first portion lengthways and the second portion widthways across the lawn. This ensures even coverage. Apply extra seed to bare or thin areas.
4. Apply the fertiliser – Divide the Vital Plus fertiliser into two equal portions. Apply the first portion lengthways and the second portion widthways across the lawn to ensure even distribution and prevent colour variation.
5. Ensure good soil contact – Lightly rake the grass seed and fertiliser into the surface to improve soil contact, then press down firmly using a garden roller or by treading the area. This prevents the seed from shifting. This step is crucial for germination.
6. Water immediately – After pressing, water the lawn straight away. Keep the soil and seed consistently moist for at least two weeks. For best results, water lightly three to four times per day rather than heavily once or twice.
7. Avoid walking on the lawn – After three weeks, you may mow the grass for the first time. Avoid walking on the lawn until this first cut.
