Description

Scarifying your lawn may seem daunting, as it stresses the grass and initially results in a less appealing appearance. However, with the products included in this kit, your lawn will quickly bounce back and look better than ever before.

The kit includes:

Iron Sulphate: Targets moss and aids in post-scarification lawn recovery
Play Grass Seed: Ideal for high-traffic areas
Quick-acting Lawn Fertiliser: Strengthens the grass and enhances its colour

Applying Iron Sulphate helps combat moss growth and darkens the grass colour while reinforcing the grass blades for increased resilience against scarification stress.

After scarification, the grass requires intensive nourishment. Our quick-acting lawn fertiliser promotes the recovery of both leaves and roots, facilitating the rapid regeneration of a lush lawn.

Scarification thins out the grass, necessitating overseeding with a fast-growing grass seed blend like our play grass seed.

Tip: Iron Sulphate may acidify the soil, so we recommend applying lime. Lawn Lime can be purchased separately or as part of the Renovation Kit.

User manual

IMPORTANT: The action of Iron Sulphate needs two weeks time. Therefore, wait two weeks after spreading Iron Sulphate before scarifying.

  1. Remove leaves and green waste. Do not cut the grass shorter than 5 cm.
  2. Wear gloves and safety glasses when spreading Iron Sulphate.
  3. Divide Iron Sulphate into two equal parts. Sprinkle one part horizontally and the other vertically over the lawn. This ensures that the fertiliser is well distributed.
  4. Wipe away excess product from the patio and other paved surfaces to avoid staining.
  5. Water the lawn lightly to speed up absorption. This is not necessary if rain is predicted.
  6. After two weeks, the moss turns black and the lawn may be scarified.
  7. Scarify the lawn two weeks after spreading the Iron Sulphate Lawn Fertiliser. Want to know how to do that? Then read our article about scarifying the lawn.
  8. Divide Spring Boost into two equal parts. Sprinkle one part horizontally and the other vertically over the lawn. This ensures that the fertiliser is well distributed.
  9. Also divide the Sports & Fun grass seed into two equal parts. Sprinkle one part horizontally and the other vertically over the lawn. This will ensure that the grass seed is well distributed. Sprinkle a little more grass seed on bare spots in the lawn to seal them.
  10. Make sure the grass seed makes good contact with the soil. For example, you can drag a rake upside down through the lawn (i.e. without hooking the tines into the soil).
  11. Water immediately. Young grass must not dry out so maintain soil moisture for at least two weeks by watering the lawn regularly.
  12. After three weeks, the grass can be cut. Avoid treading on the lawn until the first mowing.
