Step 1: Prepare your lawn
Before applying any fertiliser or grass seed, prepare your lawn by following these steps:
- Mow the lawn to a height of about 5 cm.
- Remove any leaves, debris, or weeds.
- Water the lawn thoroughly if it hasn’t rained recently, ensuring the soil is moist.
Step 2: Spring (March – May)

Application Rate: 25g/m².
- Evenly spread the fertiliser over your lawn using a spreader.
- No need to water immediately after application unless rain is not expected for a few days.
- Repeat application in early spring and again in mid-spring for best results.
Step 3: Summer (June – August)
Product: Easy Mow fertiliser
Application Rate: 25g/m².
- Spread the fertiliser evenly over the lawn using a spreader.
- Water lightly after application to activate the nutrients.
- This fertiliser provides nutrients for up to 90 days and promotes steady growth with less mowing required.
Step 4: Autumn (September – November)
Product: Vital Plus fertiliser
Application Rate: 25g/m².
- Evenly distribute the fertiliser across the lawn using a spreader.
- Water the lawn lightly after application.
- This fertiliser will help strengthen your lawn before winter, promoting deep roots and disease resistance.
Step 5: Sowing grass seed (Best in spring or autumn)
Product: Sport & Fun grass seed
Application Rate: 25g/m².
- Water the soil thoroughly before application.
- Spread the grass seed in two passes – first in one direction, then at a 90-degree angle to ensure even coverage.
- Use a roller or gently press the seed into the soil for optimal contact.
- Water immediately after spreading and keep the soil moist for at least two weeks.
- Avoid walking on the newly seeded area until the grass reaches about 5 cm in height.
General Tips:
- Mowing: Maintain a lawn height of about 5 cm throughout the year. Avoid cutting the grass too short, especially in summer and winter.
- Watering: During dry spells, water your lawn deeply once or twice a week. The AquaSaver-coated grass seed reduces water usage, but your lawn will still benefit from consistent moisture.
- Fertilising: Reapply fertiliser every 2-3 months depending on the season, ensuring your lawn receives the right nutrients year-round.
