The Winter Lawn Care Kit is specially designed to help your lawn stay healthy and resilient through the winter months. Combining Lawn Lime and Iron Sulphate, this kit provides everything your grass needs to thrive, even in harsh conditions.

Lawn Lime works by balancing the soil’s pH levels, neutralising acidity that can limit your lawn’s ability to absorb nutrients. By creating the right environment for grass growth, it strengthens the roots and helps keep moss at bay. The added magnesium in the lime also boosts the natural green colour of your lawn, making it look healthier all winter long.

Meanwhile, Iron Sulphate delivers a fast-acting, deep green colour while protecting the lawn from moss, weeds, and disease. It strengthens the grass, making it more resilient during cold weather. You’ll see results within just one week, as your lawn gains a rich, healthy look.

These two products work together perfectly—Lawn Lime improves the soil, while Iron Sulphate enhances the lawn’s appearance and defends against moss. This combination ensures your lawn stays strong, green, and protected throughout the winter.

User manual

Step 1: Prepare your lawn

Before applying Lawn Lime or Iron Sulphate, follow these steps to prepare your lawn:

  1. Mow the lawn to a height of about 5 cm.
  2. Remove any leaves, debris, or moss from the surface.

Step 2: Apply Lawn Lime

Product: Lawn Lime

Application rate: 25g/m²

  • Spread the Lawn Lime evenly across the lawn using a hand spreader.
  • Divide the lime into two equal parts—apply the first part lengthwise, and the second part crosswise for full coverage.
  • Lightly water the lawn to help the lime absorb into the soil.

*Be sure to apply Lawn Lime at least three weeks before or after fertilising to avoid reducing the effectiveness of the nutrients.

*The lawn is safe to use immediately after application.

Step 3: Apply Iron Sulphate

Product: Iron Sulphate

Application rate: 29g/m²

  • Mow the lawn again, if necessary, keeping it at a height of about 5 cm.
  • Spread the Iron Sulphate evenly in two passes—first in one direction, then at a 90-degree angle to ensure even coverage.
  • Lightly water the lawn after applying Iron Sulphate, or wait for rain to help it activate.
  • Avoid walking on the lawn for seven days after applying the iron sulphate to allow the product to work effectively.
  • Tip: Apply in dry weather. After use, sweep or blow terraces clean; iron can cause discolouration or rust stains when wet.

*Only to be used between 4° and 25° Celsius

*Not suitable for newly seeded grass (less than three months old)

General tips:

  • Mowing: Maintain a lawn height of about 5 cm throughout the year. Avoid cutting the grass too short, especially in summer and winter.
  • Watering: AquaSaver-coated grass seed reduces water usage, but the lawn still needs regular moisture for optimal growth.
  • Timing: Apply Lawn Lime at least three weeks before or after fertiliser to maximise the effectiveness of both treatments.

Storage:

  • Store the products in resealable packaging to maintain their freshness and effectiveness.
  • Keep in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight.

Safety:

  • Wear protective gloves and glasses when handling Iron Sulphate.
  • All products in this kit are safe for children and pets once applied.
